Margaret and Jim Drescher

Well if you know Windhorse Farm you probably know this couple! I know them pretty well considering we have shared a family for the last 30 years… the last 20 at Windhorse Farm. So, you probably know that they love the forest, and the gardens, and animals, and food, and ecology, and compost… But maybe you didn’t know that Margaret grew up in Southern California, tended bar at a chicken and ribs joint, and loves to play squirrels with her grandson. Jim grew up in Wisconsin and once lived in a teepee where his first daughter, Willow, was born, he used to love watching football and he makes a mean fried-egg sandwich. Jim and Margaret are dedicated Shambhala Buddhist practitioners, they moved to Nova Scotia in 1979 and to the farm in 1990. Their work at Windhorse Farm has allowed them to share their enthusiasm for land stewardship and their view of ‘Nothing Missing’ with many people.
